The West Country
Somerset is known as ‘The Jewel of the South West’, offering stunning views across open countryside. It is also home to the Cathedral city of Wells and, of course, Cheddar cheese and cider!
The trip includes a visit to Cheddar Gorge. Here you spend the day, exploring its caves and admiring the dramatic cliffs which surround the gorge.
You will also take a visit to The Cheese Company Visitors Centre, the only remaining cheese maker in the village of Cheddar. Your guided tour will show you the various processes of the cheese making, and there is an opportunity to taste the many cheese varieties and make purchases.
Your trip also includes entrance to the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens, where you will have morning refreshments and a Ploughman’s lunch along with free time to explore this site, which was built Circa 1210.
