The Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop and Costume Centre are set in the High House Production Park in Purfleet amid beautifully restored historic buildings and landscaped gardens.
They are fascinating and inspiring places to visit and learn about the skills behind theatre set construction, design and costume making. You will discover the fascinating world of painters, carpenters and metalworkers as they make the Royal Opera House designers’ vision into reality and create the many different sets and scenery for the ballets and operas performed at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
The Costume Centre is home to around 20,000 historic costumes and costumes from the current theatre repertory, and you will see new designs being created and characters brought to life through costume.
