Dear Valued Customer,
The COVID-19 pandemic has so far caused huge disruption to everyone in the UK and could continue to do so for the next few months. The travel and leisure industries are not immune to this and many companies around the UK, included Groups Direct, have received an unprecedented number of cancellations.
Following careful consideration in response to the COVID-19 situation and the Government’s most recent travel advice, Groups Direct has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel all upcoming unpaid reservations for day trips, holidays and theatre. We understand that this may be very disappointing to many of our customers, but given the current circumstances, we are unable to guarantee that our suppliers will be open to the public for many of these reservations.
We are receiving emails every day, confirming that museums, theatres, distilleries and the like are closing until further notice. We believe that the best course of action for Groups Direct is to cancel all unconfirmed reservations while we wait for the situation to improve – hopefully later in the year. We think it is extremely likely that in the next few weeks, the majority of our suppliers, if not all, will be cancelling tours until further notice, which is why we have made this difficult decision.
We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment that this will bring to our customers, but our primary interest is to make sure that people stay safe and healthy in this difficult time. If you have a provisional reservation with us, you do not need to get in touch with us, as this will be automatically cancelled.
The Groups Direct Team
